65-year-old Vladimir Kuzmin became a guest of Boris Korchevnikov's program "The Fate of a Man", where he spoke about his difficult relationship with the Prima Donna.
Alla Pugacheva and Vladimir Kuzmin met in 1984, when she was 35 years old, and he was 29 years old. It was the aspiring rock musician who was recommended to Alla Pugacheva as a person who would help her prepare for a tour in West Germany, where she was to reincarnate as a rock singer.
"I could not fully believe that I would find myself abroad, and even with Pugacheva,"
- said Vladimir Kuzmin. After the tour, Kuzmin and Pugacheva began to work closely together: the first Soviet pop star took Vladimir under his wing, becoming his producer.
“Day and night we worked together for several years. Our relationship was natural. I loved her, the whole country loved her. And she loved me. How could you not love me?"
- Kuzmin opened up.
“In 1985, the press wrote that there are only two stars in the USSR - Pugacheva and Kuzmin. And right after that Igor Nikolaev wrote the hit "Two Stars". After that I started a hard life: I woke up popular and gave not two, but more concerts a day”.
Kuzmin admitted that the affair with Pugacheva became a good school for him - both creatively and personally. “She criticized me a lot, taught me to love the audience, to sing for every spectator,” Kuzmin said.
During the romance with Pugacheva, Vladimir Kuzmin was married to the poetess Tatyana Artemyeva.
“We met when she was 20 and I was 19”,
- he said.
Tatiana wrote several hits for her husband, including "My Love".
“When I sang this song, the audience got up. And then I realized that my vocation is to sing love songs”,
- Vladimir Kuzmin said to Boris Korchevnikov.
“Alla always told me that I had a burden on my wings, I had to throw it off and be creative. But I didn't dump anyone. And even after the divorce, he paid alimony for many years and always helped his family,”
- said in the program Kuzmin.
When asked how he managed to divorce his wife in Soviet times, having four children, Kuzmin replied: “Alla had great connections, she helped. The family broke up earlier, but formally the marriage ended because of Pugacheva, yes, she divorced me, "the rock musician admitted frankly.
“Probably, then she wanted to be with you?” Boris Korchevnikov asked. “I don’t know, and I cannot discuss more intimate details,”
- Vladimir Kuzmin succinctly avoided answering.
